On the snow's journey to the sea...

The Snowy River is a lovely place to cool off with a swim or have a picnic on the river bank.

Fish, canoe and look out for platypus, wombats and birds.

Take plenty of photos, sketch or dream by this famous river.

The Snowy Mountains and Monaro

Dalgety is centrally located for you to explore the Monaro - Snowy Mountains region: just 35km from Jindabyne, 19 km from Berridale and 50 km from Cooma.

It is a year round destination where you can enjoy the snow, trout fishing, bushwalking, spotting platypus and wombats in their natural habitat. The unique landscape and history of the Monaro is a photographers' delight.

From rolling hills and granite boulders to ski slopes and the magic of the Main Range, the high country has so much to offer.
